Hosts Jeffrey Pedersen and Shannon Townsend paid tribute and gave encouragement to World War II veteran Leonard Crowl during the April 26 episode of the “Matrixxx Grooove Show” on Brighteon.TV.
“He is in hospice. He’s the sweetest man. And he’s with his family at home with terminal cancer. At 96 years old. His days are numbered, unfortunately, but he’s lived a full life and has served our great country. He’s a strong patriot, loves his country. Just prayers up for Leonard. Leonard you’re amazing. God bless you. Thank you for fighting for this country,” said Pedersen about Crowl, who was a machinist’s mate on a Landing Ship Tank (LST) of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
“We the American people also took an oath. And we’re gonna fight for this country as well against enemies both foreign and domestic.”
Pedersen shared a brief historical background of the former U.S. Navyman, who had lost his left arm in a farming accident. (Related: Farm work scientifically shown to improve the mental health of veterans… no drugs needed.)
“They didn’t give a ship’s name at that time as they didn’t expect them to come home or come back. They gave it a number. When they left Hawaii, they picked up the First Marine Division and when they got to Okinawa, they were beached. And they left the Marines out and all the Marines artillery, the tanks, the weapons were all unloaded,” Pedersen said.
Crowl’s ship became an emergency hospital ship. The wounded and injured were brought to their ship before being moved into a larger hospital ship. Pedersen said the ship had faced 21 kamikaze attacks, and Crowl had made sure it stayed afloat and working.
According to Pedersen, the former Navy man is saddened by what is happening in the nation. “He wants to know that we’re going to win. And we need to pray for him and let him know that his fighting and his service to the country was not for nothing,” said Pedersen.
Townsend said that today’s generation of Americans is much different than Crowl’s generation. He pointed out that if America were full of people like Crowl, Americans would have never gotten into the terrible situation that they are in to start with.
“So our hearts and prayers go out to him and his family. And we are 100 percent with you. We are praying for you and we are all standing in solidarity for Leonard because we know that his fight was true just like we know that our fight was true,” Townsend said.
Pedersen also shared that Lieutenant General Michael Flynn was introduced to the World War II veteran at a recent grassroots GOP gathering. Flynn spent time talking with the disabled veteran and his wife, Margaret.
The Brighteon.TV hosts showed a video clip of that meeting. According to Pedersen, Flynn’s meeting with Crowl was a very touching moment. He added that Crowl was so happy to meet the former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Pedersen also displayed Flynn’s challenge coin and asked for prayers for American veterans.
Townsend, on the other hand, asked their viewers to give themselves a moment to reflect and understand what others have sacrificed and what others have been willing to throw aside to stand up for the country. He also called on Americans to stand up, be a patriot and get in the gap where America has been lost, stolen and infiltrated.
“And stay in there and be proud and be loud about America and what she means to you. Because this is the last bastion of freedom; we do not have any place to escape to. And that’s why we fight every day because we know this to be true,” Townsend said.
