We are pleased to inform you that Revolver’s own Darren Beattie has landed a top role in the America First Trump administration. Dr. Beattie — a former speechwriter for President Trump and a professor at Duke University — has earned widespread respect for his academic scholarship and groundbreaking work at Revolver News. Since leaving academia, Darren has been a relentless force in exposing the left’s DEI agenda, their censorship schemes, and the J6 entrapment operation — including the infamous pipe bomb hoax.

Now, Darren is joining President Trump’s State Department in a top-ten ranking position, serving as the Acting Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs. In plain terms, Darren will be shaping America’s messaging to counter terrorism and combat violent extremism, something he’s been doing at Revolver for years now.
As a result, Darren will be taking a leave of absence from direct editorial involvement at Revolver News. But worry not; the same invisible team of patriots that has worked at Revolver since the very beginning (July of 2020) will remain behind to continue carrying out the Revolver mission without missing a beat.
Here is Darren’s exclusive statement to the Revolver News readership regarding his appointment to the Trump administration:
Dear Revolver Readers,
Over the past four and a half years, it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to pour my blood, sweat, and tears into making Revolver News the news website that I always thought American patriots deserved. I think it is now more than fair to say that, pound for pound, Revolver stands as the most cutting-edge, influential, and fearless voice for Americans who want to learn the truth. Our original reporting and perspectives have reshaped and corrected the national narrative on many important matters, including, and principally, the political weaponization of the national security bureaucracies against Trump supporters and American patriots of all stripes. We are, of course, best known for directly challenging the official narrative of January 6—and we are especially proud that President Trump, who recently and heroically pardoned the January 6 political prisoners, has himself cited our reporting on this issue frequently and favorably.
Our journalistic efforts have earned the praise not only of President Trump himself but also just about every prominent and fearless figure in the America First, MAGA world. What I am most proud of, however, is the hundreds of millions of patriots who have done us the great honor of visiting our news page and trusting us to give them the truth. I am eternally grateful to you, readers, for sticking by us even as some of the most ruthless and well-funded political operatives on the planet tried to bury us. The sad truth is the regime wanted to prevent the American people from knowing the truth of things.
Now, thanks to President Trump’s miraculous victory, we have entered the beginning of a new Golden Age—of success, prosperity, legitimacy, and accountability. I have been given the great honor of serving once again in Trump’s administration, this time in the Department of State. Helping Secretary Rubio and my esteemed colleagues in the State Department fulfill President Trump’s agenda will require every ounce of my focus and energy; accordingly, I will, for the time being, suspend my direct editorial involvement in Revolver News. I want to reassure my beloved readers that Revolver remains in good hands and that the exceptionally talented team that remains is the same team that has been on board since day one and has been indispensable to our success. Rest assured, Revolver will continue to provide the fearless, cutting-edge, America First reporting that our readers expect and deserve.
At the risk of redundancy, I would like to end this message by once again thanking our readers for joining us on this tremendous journey and for fighting alongside us even as some of the most powerful forces in the world were trying to shut us up and shut us down. With our readers and our Revolver News family, we have changed the world. But without you, we are nothing. I want you to know that we know that and that we are grateful for each and every one of you.
I hope that you will stay with us on this journey as we enter a new Golden Age for our country under President Trump’s leadership. This great country and Revolver News alike have unfinished business. The best is yet to come!
With gratitude and love to our readers,
Darren
What an incredibly heartfelt message from Dr. Beattie, who has truly put all of his blood, sweat and tears into Revolver News in the past nearly half decade. Of course, the usual suspects are guffawing and melting down on X and in the media. And as news of his new role spreads, other media outlets are being forced — begrudgingly — to report it. This is a real blow to the same smug hacks who love slapping the “conspiracy theorist” label on anyone who challenges their narrative.
The publication Semafor originally broke the news and provided us with some choice quotes from Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson.
“Darren personifies the America First Right — smart, tough, relentless — with a ‘take no prisoners’ attitude. He made Revolver a major player in the frontal attack on the Deep State,” Steve Bannon said in a text message to Semafor. “As important as his agency will be in the building at ‘Foggy Bottom’ , the symbolism of his hire by POTUS screams: ‘We Don’t Give 2 F****x’ for convention.’”
Tucker commented to Semafor as well, calling Beattie “decent and genuinely smart” in a text message.
A chastened Jonathan Greenblatt surprisingly bit his tongue:
[Beattie] was appointed by Trump in 2020 to a the Commission for the Preservation of American Heritage Abroad, a move that the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, Jonathan Greenblatt, called “outrageous” at the time. (Greenblatt declined to comment Sunday.) The commission works with other governments to preserve sites related to World War II and the Holocaust.
And of course, right on cue, ABC News is in full meltdown mode, screeching “conspiracy theorist” at Darren Beattie and his team — the left’s typical, lazy, go-to attack when they’ve got nothing left in the tank. But here’s the truth: Darren and his Revolver investigators didn’t just ruffle feathers; they blew the lid off the FBI’s entrapment plot against Trump and his supporters on January 6. As a matter of fact, Darren is the one who coined the famous phrase “Fedsurrection,” which perfectly describes the FBI’s little house party at the Capitol that day.
President Donald Trump’s administration is filling one of the State Department’s top positions with a controversial conservative journalist who has promoted conspiracy theories related to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and was fired as a speechwriter by the first Trump administration when it was revealed that he had spoken at a conference tied to White nationalists, sources familiar with the move told ABC News.
The sources said that the man, Darren Beattie, will now be the acting Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, a so-called “Top 10” position that, as the State Department’s website describes it, “leads America’s public diplomacy outreach, which includes messaging to counter terrorism and violent extremism.”
[…]
More than two years ago, Beattie launched a right-wing media outlet called Revolver News, which has raised funds in part by selling pro-Trump apparel and merchandise.
“It’s OK to deny 2020,” reads two shirts still being sold on the outlet’s website. Another shirt promotes the refuted claim that Jan. 6, 2021, was an “FBI setup to frame Trump supporters as insurrectionists,” as the shirt says.
And Beattie has become a frequent guest on other right-wing media, often promoting conspiracy theories related to Jan. 6.
On Donald Trump Jr.’s podcast last month, Beattie repeated his claims that the FBI knows who’s behind the pipe bombs left at DNC and RNC offices on Jan. 6 but “what they found out was profoundly embarrassing to the government and to the narrative that the Biden regime wanted to promote, and so instead of following that investigation further, they basically just killed it,” Beattie said.
Beattie also claimed that surveillance video released by the FBI to seek help in identifying the perpetrator was “clearly tampered with.”
And who can forget this saga?
At the end of the Trump administration, in November 2020, the Trump White House appointed Beattie to a three-year term with the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, which helps preserve sites related to the Holocaust.
The Anti-Defamation League strongly objected to the appointment, issuing a statement at the time saying, “It is absolutely outrageous that someone who has consorted with racists would even be considered for a position on a commission devoted to preserving Holocaust memorials in Europe.”
The New York Times then asked Beattie for comment, and he told the paper: “The ADL pretends to be an organization that protects Jews, but it really exists to protect Democrats. As a Jewish Trump supporter, I consider it an honor to be attacked by the far-left ADL and its disgraced leader, Jonathan Greenblatt.”
That was funny.
Many forget this, but I served in the Biden Administration for a little over a year in an important, non-political post

Here’s how Semafor broke the news in a slightly more fair way than ABC News:
Secretary of State Marco Rubio will appoint Darren Beattie, a speechwriter in President Donald Trump’s first term, acting undersecretary of state for public diplomacy, two people briefed on the plans said.
Beattie has been a vocal critic of broad swathes of American foreign policy and represents a dramatic step away from the establishment Republicanism Rubio long embodied: In a widely-circulated essay on the site he founded, Revolver, Beattie compared the “color revolutions” that Western democracies backed in Eastern Europe in the 1990s and 2000s to “the coordinated efforts of government bureaucrats, NGOs, and the media to oust President Trump.”
It’s unclear whether Beattie will be nominated to fill the role on a permanent basis, and he declined to comment on the post. A State Department spokesperson didn’t immediately respond to an inquiry.

Beattie’s appointment will send another signal that the new administration is rooting itself deeply in the new right.

Beattie is a well-regarded figure in Trump’s orbit whose controversy in 2018 — he appeared at a conference with extreme figures, but was not criticized for anything he said there — barely rates by 2025 standards.
The move offers a glimpse, however, at how Rubio is staffing his department to reassure the MAGA faithful that he’s with the program. Rubio’s director of policy planning is another MAGA intellectual, Michael Anton, whose essay, “The Flight 93 Election” made the case for electing Trump in 2016 at any cost.
The role that Beattie is filling on, at least, a temporary basis oversees American public diplomacy abroad, as well as the high-profile office of the department spokesperson in Washington.

Huge win. In a righteous poetic rhyme to a very rogue chapter in US history, @DarrenJBeattie, starting tomorrow, will take over Rick Stengel’s old job at State (Stengel created the State Department’s Global Engagement Center) https://t.co/VShPBDeQqg

The online meltdowns over the news were delicious:

The role at State is a perfect fit for Dr. Beattie, considering he was the one who blew the lid off the feds’ extremist antics on January 6. Speaking of J6, we’ve rounded up Darren’s most hard-hitting and explosive investigations into the scandal—all in one place. Click here to dive in: The Essential Revolver News January 6 Reading List.
This is a huge win for MAGA and a clear sign that the Trump administration means business when it comes to putting America first and draining the swamp.
Revolver News staff couldn’t be prouder or happier for Darren Beattie if we tried.
